What It Looks Like to Let God Lead Your Business
I used to think building a business meant having everything figured out. The perfect strategy, the right platform, the exact steps to scale.
But what I’ve learned is this: faith-led business isn’t about control. It’s about surrender.
And that’s not always easy.
When I Tried to Do It All Myself
In the beginning, I had the hustle mindset.
I made to-do lists, checked boxes, followed every tip from every expert.
I was doing “all the right things”, but it still felt off.
I was exhausted, constantly second-guessing, and wondering if I’d made the wrong choice.
The truth?
I was asking God to bless my plans... but I hadn’t actually invited Him in to lead them.
The Moment Everything Shifted
There was a moment — maybe you’ve had one too — where I just hit a wall.
I had poured so much time and energy into this business… and yet I felt disconnected from it.
It wasn’t aligned. It wasn’t peaceful. It wasn’t Him.
So I stopped. I prayed. And I asked:
“Lord, I don’t want to keep building something You’re not in.
Show me what You want. Lead me. I’ll follow.”
And you know what?
He did.
Not all at once.
Not with lightning bolts or loud instructions.
But with gentle nudges, divine delays, and redirections that I never would’ve chosen, but always needed.
What Letting God Lead Actually Looks Like
Letting God lead your business doesn’t mean sitting still and doing nothing.
It means taking the next step in faith, not fear.
It looks like:
Praying before you post, launch, or pivot
Choosing peace over pressure
Saying no to opportunities that don’t align with your calling
Trusting that slow growth can still be God growth
Being okay with redirection, even when it’s inconvenient
Sometimes it means turning down something good to wait on God’s best.
The Results I Didn’t Expect
When I surrendered control, I didn’t become instantly successful.
But I became deeply rooted.
Rooted in peace.
Rooted in purpose.
Rooted in confidence that even if the numbers didn’t explode, my obedience mattered more.
And over time?
God has opened doors I never could’ve kicked down myself. Connections, clarity, and provision that came from His hand, not mine.
A Note for the Mom Who’s Trying to Make It Work
If you’re reading this and trying so hard to build something from home to support your family, to be present with your kids, to create time freedom — I get it.
You don’t have to figure it all out.
You don’t have to carry the pressure alone.
You can be ambitious and obedient at the same time.
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” – Proverbs 16:3
Let Him lead.
Let go of the outcome.
And watch what He builds through your yes.
Want to take one step today?
Ask Him to show you where you’re striving and where He’s calling you to surrender.
You’re not building just a business.
You’re building with Him and that makes all the difference. 💛
